David's lovely grandmother, Lillie Ann Benefield, passed away while we were gone. She lived out of town/state for most of the eight years Dave and I've been together, so unfortunately I never got to know her very well. However, I found her to be one of the most well put together women I've had the pleasure of being around. She always looked super classy and immaculate…even her obituary referenced "a passion for shopping of all kinds". She just really seemed to enjoy and appreciate nice things.
Even more notable, though, was her strength...and I don't necessarily mean physical, although I know she kept ticking despite various health problems. No, I'm talking about the kind of strength that helps you survive the loss of three husbands, a son-in-law, and two children. I can't even imagine how difficult that must've been, but can guess that it was her faith in the Lord that got her through it. It had to have been a very happy reunion up there on October 8th...
